Is it a poem or a rap?

In case you are over spending the time to read my blog, I figured this page would be a good place to keep a flow log. Most of these pieces are from the beginning or an end to my posts, where a message is required to sum up the vibe most. Some context may be lost without the supporting documents, but maybe it’ll intrigue you enough to go see what I meant…

Welcome to my blog. My notes. My questions. A compilation of thoughts, too much for one session.

When it comes to a motive, it’s impossible to condense. With so many reasons, yet for so long I’ve been on the fence.

The exact route is unclear and that’s by intention, But the starting point is now, with a bit of expression.

An abundance of topics that we’re sure to explore, Though an underlying theme might shine as you read more.

Instead of drifting along, blindly dodging each left and right hook, I wonder if we might foresee the punches with a simple switch of outlook.

The daily race is a constant, it’s one we all get to play. But the pace will be lost if our untrained subconscious gets in the way.

Each person so unique, thanks to our individual genetic code. Fact is, it’s mental physique that makes way for beast mode.

A slight influence to look deeper, dissect a bit more. Hidden knowledge might be the key to open up the next door.

All fueled up on coffee beans in some early morning sessions, An attempt to brew words with a feeling and a bit of progression.

So here we go, ideas on a page waiting for inspection. Have a read or don’t, it’s time for my digression.

– From Blog 1. “Optimism & Coffee” (intro)

What good is all this thinking, brainstorming and constructing? If it’s not shared with others, does that mean it’s all for nothing?

It’s hard to know the outcome and to be honest, that’s the beauty. Though the importance of documenting the journey has become obvious to me.

Truth is – It’s not for praise, not for recognition, not for money. Not for ego, not for power, nor for gain or for “look at me.”

Feel free to judge or look for ulterior motives if you wish, The fact is, expending mental energy on that route would be foolish.

Why define the motive to a T at this junction, With so much ammo in the pocket, I’m bout to just jump in.

This entry, just an opener to get the ball in motion. The starting gate has dropped and the bikes have caused commotion.

So here it is from me to you, a dive below the surface,  Some written words in tangle of meaning to serve an unknown purpose.

– From Blog 1. “Optimism & Coffee” (outro)

There’s a future blog to reside in this zone. I write this now in a time where so much is unknown.

Unprecedented is a term they love to throw around. They say it so much I’m starting to think they like the sound.

Many dialogues out there we can choose to align with. But how can we tell what’s true and what’s myth?

Do we just go with our instinct, listen to our gut? Allow an instant decision by our untrained subconscious…

Maybe that works or maybe it does not. What if we broke it into pieces starting at the top?

It seems that extra analysis usually provides more insight. But it only works if we admit: we may not always be right.

In a time such as this, with the uncertainty on where we go, it’s the exact wrong landscape for an uncontrolled ego.

I’d pull for more thought in the decision making process. I feel that we ought to pull together to make progress.

It’ll be interesting to observe my words as this blog grows. I hope to find some verbs for action to keep us on our toes.

Only time will tell how this chapter ends, stay positive and thoughtful with some laughter my friends.

– From Blog 0. “Buffering”

The mission to uncover the nouns and verbs, the adjectives to explain: Life is rather short and it’d be a shame to stay the same.

Readjust your aim or stay in your lane? They say, Do yourself a favor and avoid the pain. If it can be avoided, why put up with the strain.

We hear it from our friends and family who love us.  We hear it from our own damn subconscious.

It’s a constant dialogue that plays in the background. Continually creating white noise as a dark sound.

I’m here to say that it’s not as tough as they think. I’m here to explain that once we become aware of the link,

The effort they claim, the strain, the pain…  Can be deflected with a simple reframe.

It might take me a minute to get through with some clarity, But my optimism is high, that we’ll love who we’ll be.

To be realistic is to place limits upon your reaches. If only the optimistic mind was something they would teach us.

Living in the clouds might be a label I’ve been given. With a narrow view of the image, it might make sense to believe in.

But sit up on a hill and observe from afar. Take an unbiased approach and let’s find out just where we are.

It’d be easy to think our goals are unattainable, But wait, holdup, rewind… without a list of goals – you make it so.

One thing’s for certain, at least in my reality I live in. Calculation is the secret weapon to achieving.

So although I’ve been labeled a cloud surfer by those who can only see so far, My hunch is: it’ll be revealed, this was just a pitstop on my way to the stars.

It’s not my intention to guess or blindly aim. It’s not my intention to make this about MY brain.

There’s a purpose behind the letters on the page or on the screen, In the coming days, weeks, years… I’ll do my best to show you what I mean.

It’s a way to push my limits, stretch and grow my pathways. The neural landscape evolving as I navigate through the maze.

Years and years of writing and I’ve never put it out. Well that’s beginning to change with some clicks on a mouse.

There it is, a quick insight to my story. A look at how a catalyst came to be for me.

Sometimes we’re unaware how much a change is even needed. Until a slap in the face forces the cloak to be deleted.

I wonder what mechanism will actually do the trick. I wonder if a universal catalyst exists?

Or is it really case by case, each person a new mission. Maybe it’s specific to our individual mental nutrition.

Maybe there’s a way to inspire a certain percentage. And let them use the new power to reiterate the message.

Feed their crew, their friends, and their family. Show that the way it was… isn’t the way it has to be.

Far from a manner of boastful self-righteousness. But more by example of unselfish mindfulness.

Find it in a book, a poem or a song. As long as we attempt progress, it’s impossible to get it wrong.

It might be worth taking a second look at our truths, Some of those beliefs we’ve held strong since our youth.

Maybe my story is unique and not as feasible, Ya know… the completely clean slate that I made.

But what if you picked just one topic and let the grip go, to pave the way for a new foundation to be laid?

Think of the beliefs you’ve held for years and years, Aren’t you a bit smarter and more equipped now?

It’d be interesting if we became aware that to switch gears, It just starts with some simple questions of why and how…

Maybe the catalyst is near. Maybe it’s right now. Maybe this will hit your ear and spark a lift of eyebrow.

Maybe a catalyst is close. It could be in this moment. Maybe this is just a dose and your catalyst is approaching.

There’s something about the magic of like sounding words, placed in the perfect combination for a message to be observed.

It’s been an obsession for as long as I can recall, singing and raping about. Usher, Boys 2 Men and for surely No Doubt.

As the mind grows it naturally looks for more substance, so Bob Marley, Sublime and some rap came through without reluctance.

An appreciation for a vernacular that can do two things at once: Make a rhyme and send a message that packs a serious punch.

Cruising in my truck, oblivious to how it might have appeared, I’d rap the hell out of some 50 Cent, spitting each word 100% clear.

As a natural optimist and positive person, my subconscious was on the lookout for something with less cursing.

In 2005 living near IV, something special happened. We cruised through Del Playa and heard a reggae band slappin.

Didn’t know it at the time, but it’d turn out to heavily influence me, Rebelution is the band led by Eric Rachmany.

The melody drew you in and got the juices flowing, only to be hit with a message that was usually mind blowing.

The dude had a vision and insight that allowed for a meaningful shift. From that point on, I became keen to the power of words with a twist.
